Register for the Summer Weekend Workout Program

OVERVIEW

New for 2017, the Summer Weekend Workout Program is for athletes looking for a weekend training session  to supplement their weekday training. The Weekend Workout program is desgned for runners seeking to improve performance at the 5K/10K distance, build endurance, or just have fun pushing a little harder with the support of a group and coach. It's not focused on a distance race or training plan geared towards long runs (our Distance Training Program is your go-to for those goals!) 

DETAILS

The Summer Weekend Workout Program meets on a weekend morning (varies by location) for 60-90 minutes each week. A typical session may focus on endurance, improving speed through intervals targeting different running forms and training zones/energy systems, and running technique.  There is no formal training plan as this program can be used to supplement many different training plans, or to stand alone. Many participants may choose to also participate in a Running 101 or Running 201 program if seeking additional training days. Alterately, coaches are happy to informally discuss additional training questions, volumes, etc.

PROGRAM COST

The 2017 program cost for a new participant in the Summer Weekend Workout Program is $140 for the  12-week session. Returning participant cost (for returners from any previous PR Training program) is $120 for the 12-week session. This cost includes up to 12 weekend coached group sessions (we understand you may not be able to attend them all -- coaches will share each week's planned workout so you can follow along on your own if you're traveling or have another conflict!)

All participants also receive a technical shirt, discounts on all =PR= races, and savings at Potomac River Running store. Past PR Training Program participants (in any program) $20 discoun is applied automatically when registering (just use the same email address/user id when you register!)

Note: If you are training with us in the Late Spring Running 101 or 201 program and also plan to supplement that traiing with the Weekend Workout Program, you are eligible for an additional $15 discount as there is some program overlap. Weekend Workout Program ARLINGTON: Meets SATURDAYS, 6/10-8/26 at 8:15 AM at =PR= Arlington and/or W-L HS/local parks. Coaches communicate venue changes. 

Weekend Workout Program VIENNA: Meets SATURDAYS, 6/10-8/26 at 7 AM at the W&OD Trail at Maple Avenue (and the new =PR= Vienna location when it opens.) Coaches communicate venue changes.
